Saturday morning we headed off to Cloverdale to watch the Cloverdale Rodeo and County Fair Parade in which there was a float from Cloverdale CanRC church for their VBS program. Emma was excited to wave at Auntie Lisa on the float. Then we went into the fair and had a fun time, Emma on the rides and us checking out the animals and stuff. It wwas so hot that day that I even got burnt. Me, who almost never burns, got a farmer tan at the rodeo. How apropo. Then we headed over to Dan and Leigh’s for the fir BBQ on their new deck and it was yumo!
So what did we watch on Friday night? Pinocchio from Roberto Beningi from Italy. And it was weird. I kept thinking it was going to get better and then it would just get weirder. And then Saturday night we watched Sweeney Todd with Johnny Depp. And it also was weird. And again, I kept thinking it was going to get better and then it would just get weirder. So the weekend had bad movies. But since it was a long weekend, it wasn’t over yet.
Sunday after church we headed down to Deception Pass to meet John’s parents for camping. It was a beautiful place with not so beautiful weather, since it rained on and off all Monday. But at least the border was good coming home. And so to recuperate from our extra long weekend which started on Thursday, I did a mountain of laundry yesterday. It’s less fun than it sounds.
