Home again, home again, jiggity jig!

We’re home! It feels great! The jet-lag sucks, of course, but we’re home and it’s sunny and we can cook and eat our own food and sleep in our own beds… of course, even when we got home, it wasn’t perfectly smooth. We have two house keys and since we were selling (and sold) our house just before we left the realtor had one. Our neighbour had the other for emergencies and to bring in the garbage cans. But we were smart to take a garage door opener with us. So J’s mom picked us up at the airport and brought us home. We opened the garage door and… the inside door was locked.

It was the middle of the afternoon so the neighbour was at work and when we called the realtor we got a message. And when we called back, he was in an inspection and didn’t know when he’d be done…

Well, at least it was sunny. J’s mom, bless her heart, had brought soup and buns and cheese and juice boxes so we ate a picnic in the backyard. Then the realtor called back and said he’d be there in five. Hooray! Then he reminded us of all the things we have to do in the next few days to complete the purchase of our new house. And then pack. And clean. And move. And clean. And unpack.

Phew. Maybe we should go away again…
