So eager to get here he came a week early! Baby Tristan Josiah, welcome to the world!
Dad, daughters and a dude.
Mom and son!
Big big sister!
Tristan: Welsh or Celtic meaning “noisy” as is the clanging of swords. May also be from the Spanish triste meaning sad. One of the knights of the Round Table and the tragic hero of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde.
Josiah: The Lord saves, heals, and supports. Biblical king of Judah reigned for 31 years.
Born: May 25 @ 5:17 pm weighing in at 6 lb 15 oz. And giving mom and dad lots of rest and open eyes! He is one alert baby. And a good nurser. A great nurser. He was on with 15 minutes of being born and has a stronger suck than either of the girls, who were also good nursers. I’ve heard that about boys though. They can be a bit breast-obsessed…
So we’ll be back to our semi-regular posting in a little while since we’re enjoying our baby-moon.
A song of ascents. Of Solomon.
1 Unless the LORD builds the house,
its builders labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchmen stand guard in vain.
2 In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to[a] those he loves.
3 Sons are a heritage from the LORD,
children a reward from him.
4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are sons born in one’s youth.
5 Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their enemies in the gate.
